Anouk Govil Knows the Beach

Growing up in Ventura CA, Anouk Govil has learned the beach lifestyle. Whether it be surfing, kayaking, sun tanning or just relaxing. The city has so much to offer, located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

The city is situated right on the coast making for a tourist destination or comfortable beach living. The city seen an economic boom in the 1920's when oil was found. Overtime the original buildings and missions have now become the center of the newly urbanized city. Surrounding the downtown area is large areas of farming and agriculture, this has helped diversify Ventura.

One of the reasons Anouk Govil has continued to reside in Ventura is because the climate is optimal. The average high throughout the year ranged between 65-75, with sunny days most of the year. This type of weather is perfect if you enjoy bike riding, skateboarding or kayaking during all seasons.

The great part about being so close to the beach is that there is a ton of place to ride bikes. For locals trying to get away from the tourism part of town, they usually head up to the east side of the city where you can find nature trails spanning miles.

The demographics are diverse which create rich culture around music and dancing. Typically, the younger crowds head downtown on the weekends where there are plenty of bars and nightlife. The largest employer of the city is actually the government. The county employees almost 8,000 people while the largest private employer employees less than 1,000.

Popular spots for outdoor activities include the Fairgrounds, the pier and the many parks. The Fairgrounds actually is right next to some of the most consistent surfing conditions in the area. Sandy beaches make it ideal for surfers and tourist. The pier is known for a spot of popular photography or fishing.

The harbor makes for great walking and kayaking, many restaurants are located around the area overlooking the bay. Great sunsets can be photographed here.
